A Very Vintage Christmas

I am in love with A Very Vintage Christmas Kit by Amy Jaz Designs. Truly, the kit is wonderful and I have so many ideas running in my head. But let's do it one step at a time, shall we?

Many papers to select from the kit and I just combined 3 of them. Love the deer!

Added the Joy to the World phrase and a couple of gold brads. Of course, red and white baker's twine adds a christmasy feel to it. Subtle machine stitching and distressed ink makes the card perfect.

Yesterdays Craft Fair

I was out all day yesterday attending the Winter Artisan Fair at Leigh Square Port Coquitlam. Having a full-time day job and a toddler at home, I certainly don't have a lot of free time. Thank goodness that I have boxes of cards and other paper goodies so I did not have stay up late in the past couple of weeks to have enough items to sell.

The display could have been better but it could have been worse as well. I could not find the tablecloth that I used last year and fortunate enough I found this blue sheet last minute which worked quite well.

And I wished I could display my popular tags a bit better rather than placed them in plastics.

I now have a couple of things added on my to-do list, including finding a hanger or something for next year which of course it's not an urgent matter and be on the bottom of the list, LOL, and making more cutie magnets. I'll tell you more about how the cutie magnets idea came up later :-)

ON SALE
Selected sections: Holidays and Teabag Holders are now on sale, perfect timing for Christmas Shopping.

You may also notice that we don't have a Saturday Artisan post this week, and no new giveaway this week. There is a last-minute changed by the scheduled artist and it's best to postpone the post. However, there giveaway from the Pen Place is currently on.

Working on Wholesale Order

I've been MIA for the past week, I apologize. I know I'm not so good with keeping blog up-to-date. I try, though, but that's not an excuse. :-P

The past weeks had been crazy busy for me. My wholesale client wanted to re-order. Yei!! It also meant that I had to stay up late and wake up very early on most days.

My 22 mos son didn't make it easier for me. He got up and found me whenever I wasn't in bed (we still share bed and I have the him-sleeping-on-his-own-room on my list but there are other stuff that takes more priority at the moment). Once I tried to wake up at 4am and snuck out of bedroom and less than half an hour . . . there he was, looking at me from upstairs and called "mama". Lights were off and I headed to upstair to continue my sleep.

Aaaanyway, 100 cards were picked as wholesale order and will be sent this week to Nelson, BC. I just need to go to the post office tomorrow to get a quote on the shipping cost. As holiday season is approaching, Christmas cards are requested.

Here are some of my Christmas cards. All are sold out.

Christmas Spirit

It's early December, I can't believe that soon it'll be Christmas, then a whole 2009 year awaiting upon us.

We went to Supermall yesterday. First thing first. My hubby was craving for coffee. Starbucks coffee to be exact. As we headed to Starbucks, from a far we could see its decor in red. That means Starbucks has served its Christmas blends. Yei! We were so excited since it means that we could get eggnog latte. Not!! The barista told us they do not serve anything with eggnog in Indonesia. :-( So, instead we had Toffee Nut Latte and Dark Cherry Mocha. Sitting down at Starbucks store brought our memory back to Vancouver during holiday season. Such a sweet memory.

Those Christmas cards on top are for our dear friends in Vancouver and Japan. Our friendship continues even though we're so far apart from each other. I hope someday(soon) . . .we'll meet again.

You Got Mail

I always love receiving mails. I think most of us do. Bills and junk mails are exceptions, of course.

Here are today's mails that gave a little smile on my face:
  • Clear stamps that I ordered through Etsy. I'm so excited, I can't wait to use 'em.
  • Preserved mangoes. Mmmm...Yummies. We could not help to eat them before I got a chance to take a picture of them. There were 5 in total. My dad-in-law asked his employee to drop this off at home for us to enjoy as snack. So thoughtful of him.
  • An e-mail received from Holland America Line. Now, don't you wish you're there? I know I do.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? You know that Christmas card is a must, don't you? :-) We're at the end of October already. Beat the rush and shop today. Consider the shipping time it takes for an order to get to you, you probably want to start shopping now. Posts get delayed during holiday season. For those who already started and about to finish, kudos to you!

Don't forget to consider donate a card to a soldier sent to his/ her family. Click here for more details.

World Card Making Day

Let's celebrate the World Card Making Day which falls on the first Saturday of October. This year it falls on October 4th. I know...I'm a day late.

It's founded by Paper Crafts magazine, one of my favorites!

To know more about the World Card Making Day, visit here. In a nutshell, it's to "Celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family" and to "Kick off (and get a head start on) the holiday card-making season", which I already have :-)

Mission Soldier Support - Holiday Season Troop Card Drive

The first Mission Soldier Support (MSS) Promo was successful. We were able to collect over 1700 handmade greeting cards.

This holiday season, I will also be donating cards to the 2nd Mission Soldier Support (MSS) Project. Soldiers can use these cards to write to their loved ones back home. That's the least I can do for them.

If you'd like to participate also, simply purchase holiday cards from my shop and include "MSS" in your Notes to Seller. I'll send the cards directly to our project coordinator, Captured Time Books, for shipment overseas. Cards must be purchased by Nov. 7, 2008. Please spread the word!
