Port Moody Craft Fair

I'm crazy busy preparing for the fair that is going to be held on this upcoming Sunday, November 1st. The Tri-City News writes an article in it which is a GREAT publicity for us.

The story on how this fair started is quite interesting. See, my parents introduced me to their message therapist while I stayed at their place in Port Coquitlam, BC. My dad told her that I make cards. During some treatment sessions, we talked about crafts. She herself is crafty but she doesn't have time to really doing it between her work and taking care of her toddler, who is only 2 days older than Ethan. She then said that what about having a craft fair at her house, at least that's the first step for her getting anything crafty.

Long story short, I managed to get 2 etsian sellers to join the fair and these ladies managed to get their friends to join as well. The more the merrier!

Here are some paper goodies that I'll be bringing. There are more in work now.

So if you're in the area, please come by. We'd love to see ya! Details can be found here.

Update on Adore By Nat Shop

I am going back on track slowly, starting to creating new cards. This sassy owl card is just too adorable. Just listed at my shop this afternoon.

Stay tuned for more owl cards. I have a few owl stamps that I can't wait to use. But of course, I'm still trying to manage my time better and create more cards.

Buy 3 Get 1 Free Sale is on now. Get your cards and tags today at great deal. Everything in this section is Buy 3 Get 1 Free. I need to clear my inventory in Indonesia while stock up on inventory here in Canada.

More Sets of Cards

We found out that each of us can only bring 2 x 23 kg baggage. It was 2 x 32 kg when we flew to Indonesia last year. That means it is about 50 kg reduced in total as a family.

Today I dug in my box of cards, reorganized, and put some of them in a set of 5. They are available at my Adore By Nat shop.

I REALLY need to get rid of my cards as I won't be able to bring them all. And the paper supplies . . . it's still piling in my drawers. Call me desperate but I got to admit . . . I AM!!

The planning is already in mind. I have to leave some of my rubberstamps behind. It's true that acrylic stamps are much better over all. They don't take so much space and very light in weight. Papers . . . I have to use as many as I could but at the same time I'm fighting myself as I really like to collect papers too. Oh darn!

Wish me luck on my attempt in selling all of my cards and clearing out the inventory.

Sweet in Pink

Craving for pink?

Somehow having a boy making me less of a girl. Shopping for clothes used to be one of my favorite things to do, but now? Not so much. I shop for my little one and love making him looks good. But sometimes, when we go out I don't feel that I dress up enough. My little one looks so cute and I'm just...blah.

So, I try to get back to the old me, be a little bit girly. I'm 30 something and yet hate wearing makeup. May be now it's the time, eh?

New Cards

Here are my cards that I made recently.

Some of them using ribbons that I just bought last week.

They turned out great!! I'm planning to use them even more, hmmm...perhaps for tags. I just wish that I have more time to do all of these. Among taking care of my Ethan, being in front of computer, going out as a family, scrapbooking and cardmaking, there are not much time left.

I have no more new cards to list for tomorrow, so at least tonight I have to make a few. Gotta go!

A Moment to Remember

It finally rained today. It poured for a good 10 minutes or so. I wanted to take a picture of this heavy rain but I had to attend Ethan. The nanny had to run grabbing her clothes that were hung to dry. Poor her, she was a bit too late. The rains cleansed the roof and brought dusts to the attic where her clothes were. She ended up washing them again. By the time she finished, so was the rain.

I sat down at my craft table this afternoon and wondered what kind of card should I make. I've been making a lot of thank you cards lately. I decided to make this card, Deepest Sympathy, in memory of my husband's grandma who just passed away yesterday morning.

Canadian Living Blogged Me

It's indeed a better day for me today. My problem may not go away completely, but it surely cheers me up that I've been blogged by Canadian Living. I LOVE their magazine. I enjoy looking at their recipes though I always fail to take the time to try them out.

Jacquelyn, author of Mom blog: Because I said so!, one of Canadian Living bloggers contacted me, asking for a permission to use my Thank You cards image in her blog. Well of course!

At first I was a bit stunned. Is this real? Canadian Living contacted me? And they loved my cards?

I was blogged not just for a day, but TWO days in a row: Thursday and Friday!

Not only this will give my Adorebynat store a great exposure, but also Etsy site in general.

Another way of being closer to 'home' too, I would say.

Now I cannot stop smiling :-)

Have a happy day everyone!

New Cards

Just made them today! Remember those papers that just arrived about a week ago? I finally was able to enjoy using them. Fun fun Fun!

These papers are so gorgeous that I want to make sure they stand out among the 3D flowers.

Techniques used: machine stitching for the border, hand stitching with floss and flower, circle and scallop punches. Happy Birthday phrase is handstamped.

If you want to purchase them, they will be available at my ETSY shop. Or simply let me know by leaving me a comment.

First Blog Ever

I've heard so much about blogging and how good things come with it. I've read others' blogs and how I've enjoyed reading them. I guess, I should give it a try and not postponing it any longer.

So, without further a due, let me introduce myself. My name is Natalie, married to a wonderful husband, and a mother to an 8-months old adorable baby boy.

I love making cards. It started as a hobby and it is now a small business that I can concentrate while I am on my mat leave (on top of taking care my son, of course!). Check out my ETSY store: www.adorebynat.etsy.com and feel free to tell me what you think of it.

Below is my latest creation, a baby card. I've got to borrow a prop from my son. :-)

Thanks for reading! I'm looking forward to write more.
