Countdown to Christmas 2014 - Week 6

Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?

Julie and Blu's host Countdown to Christmas Link up on a weekly basis. Week 6 post can be found here.

The rule is very easy. In fact, there is only  ONE RULE - You must promote all the items posted as soon as the posting closes. What kind of promotions? We love doing Pinterest pinning, Wanelo, Twitter tweeting and blogging. Using Pinterest and Wanelo is what we like best because they shows the items.

This week there were 62 items to promote.

This week I'm going back to the traditional Red and Green Holiday colors. Check them out! Please click on the pictures for more details.

Thank you for stopping by. Feel free to leave a comment, share this post by clicking the social media icons (twitter, google+, facebook etc) found on top, just under this blog post title.

I hope to see you on Julie and Blu' blog this weekend for Week 7.

Down at the States

We made another trip to Bellingham, WA yesterday.

First stop just after crossing the border was the Edaleen's dairy store. Main reason is to go to their washroom *blushing* as I couldn't hold it until we'll get to Bellingham, our main destination. But we bought a bottle of strawberry milk which Ethan LOVED so much. We intended to buy more dairies on the way back, just to ensure their freshness. Their ice creams are SO GOOD and reasonably priced, and you can't beat their FRESHNESS.

2nd stop was to this scrapbooking store that I LOVED to visit everytime I'm down at the States. The bad news is that they're closing their door for good this Saturday. :-(

The good news is that everything is on sale for 50% off. Some stuff are even 70% off. Believe it or not, I was there 2 weeks ago when they started with 20% off. When my parents said they're going this week, I could not resist to not tag along.

Ethan seemed to have a good time himself. I think it's really a good idea for them making these play area available allowing moms do their shopping without little ones nagging.

And here what I bought: tons of cardstocks and a stack of patterned papers. Who could resist them?

And some stamps and stickers.

We, of course, got hungry. Afterall it's noon already. An hour and a half spent at scrapbooking store, boy....time flied.

Next stop is IHOP.

Once we're recharged, it's time to go back shopping: ROSS. But before then, I got to go postal office to mail my wholesale order package to Singapore. If you're curious, yes, it's actually cheaper to mail from the States than from Canada. It's worth the cost only if I have other stuff to do, otherwise the time and gas spent would not make it worthwhile.

Last trip before heading to Canada is Walmart. Ethan is trying out a bike. My parents wanted to buy one for his 2nd birthday. It's just too bad that this bike is not the right one for him, perhaps if he's three.

Because I was too exhausted at the end of the day, no cardmaking last night. I dozed off as I put Ethan to bed.

A Day Down at the States

We took a drive to the States yesterday for a day trip. There were six of us: my mom and dad, my sis and her little 6 mos daughter and then Ethan and I. Two young ones and we managed to survive until the end of the day with a few minor incidents.

So many places that we planned to dropped by that a full day trip felt so short. The picture above was Ethan at town of Blaine, a small town with a distinct character of patriotism, in my opinon. I wasn't sure if the blackberries at the background are edible, but probably are.

Our main destination was the city of Bellingham. A shopping at Target, Ross, Treasury of Memories, and Walmart is a must. Not that we don't have Walmart in Canada (we don't have Target though) but the Walmart in the States (and in Toronto) seem to carry more varieties. I wish we had more time to visit Barnes and Noble. I heard so much about it and really want to go there. Oh well, maybe next time.

I didn't buy tons of stuff. Nothing at Ross but I managed to buy a pile of cardstocks at Treasury of Memories. Cardmaking supplies are generally cheaper in the States than in Canada. Plus, they gave me an extra of 15% off for buying paper in bulk.

Trip to Niagara Falls

We went to Niagara Falls on Saturday with a rental car. The weather in Toronto area had been great sunny days for the last days. But on the day of our trip, it rained.

Good thing about the rain in Toronto compared to West Coast is that it would stop after a few hours while in Vancouver, it could rain from morning to night and to the next morning continuously. I remember that when we lived in Vancouver, when the rain came we had to change the whole plan instead of postponing it. It was unlikely that the rain would stop in a few hours.

To wait the rain to stop, we went to Canada One Factory Outlet. Carters OshKosh outlet just opened last Saturday and they gave out additional 20% off. Mexx was having 50% off. We could not help but buying a few clothes for Ethan. Good for us for not shopping for ourselves.

By the time we finished shopping, the rain stopped. It was not sunny but I found it as a perfect weather after all: cool instead of hot sunny day.

This is my 2nd trip to Niagara Falls. The first one was in September 2004 when it was just the two of us, hubby and I.
