TGIF! Says Nat

I'm so glad to share with you that I was featured by Infinite, a Singapore-based company, started by 2-gals who are passionate about handmade. For details, please read here. You'll a bit more information about me and my cards :-) And if you're in Singapore, please come by at their shop and you'll find a bunch of great cards made by artists around the world.

Today I listed 2 more sets of tea bag holders, just in time for holidays. I had to deactive one set of tea bag holders simply because I screwed up making them this afternoon. I scored the paper too hard and ruined it, sadly :-( So yes, things are not always work as they should be. The good thing is that I can re-use the paper if I think creatively.

Trip to Singapore - Part 4

When we're planning to go to Singapore, I also had a plan of my own, that was to shop 'till I drop at scrapbooking stores. I might have mentioned it before that there is no scrapbooking store here in Indonesia.

My main mission was to get a paper trimmer. I blogged about my old trimmer here. Since then, I bought one at a local bookstore. It's made by Carl. I like it as it cuts so crisp. The draw back is that it does not come with a side ruler.

My mission was accomplished. I found this EK Cutterpede. It's pink and it has ruler. I knew I spent a bit too much on it (SG$60) while it costs only US$25 at Target. But considering the cost of the plane ticket to the State, I find it as a great deal!

And the BIG toy that I bought was . . . the BIG SHOTS along with some of die-cuts and texturz. And it's PINK too! I somehow reminded of being girly again which I haven't felt for awhile after having a baby boy. Oh yeah, it was big bucks that I spent all right, but I considered it as an investment. And yes, of course, it's more expensive than buying it in North America. Luckily, I bought it on a discounted price as I spent SG$300 on the die-cuts. I honestly had been going back and forth to the store (Made with Love), deciding whether to get it or not. And my husband was kind enough and being supportive of me buying it. I told him that I would regret it once I am on the plane should I haven't bought it. :-)

You thought I used the machine right away once returning to Indonesia? Wrong. Somehow a part of me did not want to open the package. I treasured it so much that I didn't want to open it, tried to find the right moment. Weird, huh? But enough of being weird. I finally opened it yesterday. That's right, just yesterday and I returned on the 5th. I'm planning to play with it a bit more tomorrow.

Patterned papers. They're a must to buy, aren't they? I bought mostly for Ethan's scrapbook album. Aren't they pretty?

A special thanks to Richard of UniqueGrabs. I contacted him prior leaving to Singapore in regards of scrapbooking and cardmaking suppliers and he was generous enough and gave me a thorough information where they are.

And thanks to Iris of Made with Love for patiently assisting me. I had so much fun being in the store. Superb service! Definitely visit it again on my next trip to Singapore.

Trip to Singapore -- Part 3

Ethan arrived. I was so excited seeing him at the airport but he was asleep. It was an early morning flight and my dad-in-law said that they walked non-stop on the plane. It was a 2-hours flight.

Ethan was afraid being on the hotel room to begin with which we expected already. He did not want to touch the bed and ended up sleeping on his stroller for the night. But overall, he slept well and seemed rested in the morning. Though I thought sleeping in a stroller wouldn't be comfortable, he choose it that way, so I just went along with it.

Looking forward to share with you tomorrow on a big TOY I bought for myself. Stay tune!

Trip to Singapore -- Part 2

Coincidentally, our friend with her boyfriend from Vancouver also came to Singapore for a family visit. It's SO great to be able to meet with them and chat just like the olden days. Sitting on one of the little cafes by the harbor, having a sip of coffee, and no kid to attend to. . . just like before we had a kid. I admit that Ethan was one of the conversation topics. I couldn't stop thinking about him.

My hubby and I left to Singapore first and had the first three days to ourselves. We wanted to use this opportunity to explore Singapore and had a little vacation time for ourselves. And yet, I could not sleep for those nights thinking about who else but Ethan. The plan was that my in-laws flew with Ethan on the 4th day for his vaccination and I could not wait to reunite with him.

On our 3rd day in Singapore, we went to visit Clarke Quay. We really enjoyed our little trip to this area, it's quite quiet and peaceful, just great to get away from the buzz of the city. It became more alive at night, though.

Nope, this is not a hospital or a clinic. It's a Restaurant called CLINIC. Is it creative or just plain 'sick'?

Trip to Singapore -- Part 1

I feel so bad for not blogging for almost 2 weeks. We went to Singapore for 5 days and I've been busy trying to go back to the normal life for the past week. This included reconnecting my unlimited internet access. No internet access drove me crazy. I just feel that I lost connection with the world. That also means that I could not list as many items as I wished. The good thing is that I was able to make more cards and tags.

Here are some pictures from my trip to Singapore. We've been there a number of times but this time we noticed that Singapore is not crowded as before. This is probably mainly because of the current global financial crisis.

Reog Ponorogo
I was surprised to see this Indonesian dance performed in Singapore. I guess Indonesian culture is well-known in Singapore.

Chinese Crafts Fair
A lot of beautiful artworks here. Very impressive!

Sentosa Island
A must-see attraction site to visit. Too bad we did not have much time to explore it, but my husband and I had a great quality time together.
More pictures tomorrow :-)
