I Love Custom Order!
If you visit my Adore By Nat shop, you'll notice that I don't list as frequent as I used to. I'm currently occupied with this custom order.
Can you tell what I'm making?

Bookmarks!
They are just bit and pieces right now. I finish cutting all papers to the right measurement and currently in the sewing stage.

My sewing machine is quite small and it's one of the tools that I cannot live without. It's starting to lose its strength, mind you it has sewn hundreds and hundreds of papers. Pretty powerful for a small machine and I highly recommend it for crafting. In fact, I bought one for my girlfriend at work. But it's time for me to move to the next level. I want to have a REAL sewing machine, one that can sew zig-zag.
Can you imagine what will these bookmarks look like when finished? Stay tuned for my next post on the finishing result!
Now, would you please excuse me. I have some sewing to do.

Bookmarks
They are so many bookmarks out there. There is a section for itself on Etsy that I love to browse. But, after going through page after page, I found that there are not many of 'scrapbooked/ papercrafted style' bookmarks. Sure there are photographed bookmarks. They are also printed bookmarks. But there are not many (or even none) that are papercrafted.
Here are bookmarks that I just made recently that are a little different than most bookmarks available out there.

While I love to put more embellishment on bookmarks, I learned that it's important to be careful when choosing what embellishment to use. They should not be too chunky that leave 'mark' on the page. For example, although buttons are cute embellishment and they're great to use for gift tags, they may not be appropriate for bookmarks.
So, what I did was to create a tag to it. The tag stays out of the page and make a great decor to the book itself. Plus, I could still use buttons :-)

Hot Weather
It's been hot for these past few days. TOO hot, in fact! I sweat a lot as I took some pictures of my cards as if I was in a sauna. The air conditioner in my bedroom was on almost 24/7. At nights we have to turn both ACs on. Yes, we need 2 to make it cool enough for this 400 square feet bedroom.

That just brought the electricity bill went up to the roof. Eek! But at least we save some money on laundry :-)
Here are some Christmas tags and cards I made recently. These will add variety to my AdoreByNat store.

Although I'm not anywhere near scrapbooking stores, I LOVE receiving their newsletters. They make me feel closer to home. Today, I received a newsletters from Treasuries of Memories. And guess what, these buttons, flowers & ribbons from Daisy D's are only $2.50 or 5 for $2 each (regular price is $5.99). That's REALLY a bargain! If I were in Vancouver, I would make an excuse to my husband to drive me to Bellingham. I will load up a cart with them. But until then, I can only drool...
